Howdy Fleet 27,
With the season and Nationals around the corner, Just a reminder that #2370 is available, and I would like to get it to a good home(preferably back in Portland, "build the fleet!"). It does need some deck work, but below the waterline is fantastic, comes with loads of new running rigging, new rudder, new carbon spin pole, new Nissan 3.5HP, Triad Tandem trailer...."new" style hatches, etc. I have tons of pics and info for anyone who might be interested, please send an email. Would be a great boat for someone who would like to choose the hardware layout and deck color, and wants a great package deal with a lot of bells and whistles for a very fair price.Reasonable offers will be considered. One of those situations where with a little bit of TLC and efforts, someone is gonna have a diamond again.I hope all of you are doing very well, and I do miss the fleet in Portland. : )
OCSA Race Management Clinic March 10th
The location is Portland Yacht Club.
The event is open to anyone who is interested in attending- we'll be covering the following:
- Notice of Race
- Setting a course
- The start line
- Rounding Marks
- Finish Lines
- Timing
- Running a race- demonstration w/ flags and horns
- Calculations for finishers, PHRF
- Promoting
- Protests
- And more!
This will be very interactive w/ lots of volunteering and plenty of time for people to ask questions and give input.

Port of Camas
I launched from Port of Camas Washougal last year without incident. There is a good dock on the downstream side, the gradient is fair, and the current is not strong. BUT make sure that it is not a busy time. There can be lots of Dory boats. - Rob N
Vancouver Marine Park
I've launched boats at the Vancouver Marine Park boat ramp.
Should work fine this time of year.
On a J/24, probably need to use a rope attached to the trailer / tow vehicle to get the boat far enough into the water to float off the trailer, without drowning your vehicle.
Back trailer down to waterline, chock trailer wheels, attach strong rope to trailer and vehicle, disconnect from vehicle, take up tension and remove chocks, back trailer into water.
On single axle trailer, make sure boat is balanced so it will not tip backwards when disconnected from tow vehicle on the ramp incline.
Use the downriver dock, and the current will hold the boat to the dock. - Stephen E
