District Championship Race at Cascade Locks 1-2 August

7/16/2009 07:25:00 AM, Posted by Test, No Comment

Fleet 27, in partnership with the Columbia Gorge Racing Association will be hosting the District 19 Championship in Cascade Locks on 1-2 of August 2009.

We did not raise a fleet for this event - J24s will not have an individual start nd this is no longer the district championship race.

The race will be held in the Columbia Gorge Cascade Locks.

Get Involved!

the logistics are keeping some of you from attending. But with teamwork we can make this simple. There are a number of ways to get involved.
  1. Take the boat up there - travel up sail with your regular crew. Cloud 9, Free Bowl, Snot Hog are doing this. Requires that you deliver Friday and Monday though.
  2. Deliver a boat up or back- the delivery is a highlight. Volenteer to take up a boat to and enable greater attendance. Drop me a note if you want your boat delivered or can take a boat.
  3. Crew on a boat - Crew on another boat. Its a spectacular and windy venue. Drop me a line if interested.

Notice of Race

Notice of Race is available here.

Travel by Water from Portland

This is one of the highlights of the weekend. See photos of last year's trip for reasons why.

Depart Thursday after racing or Friday moning. We intend to depart from Portland at 6:15AM and from Government Island dock by 7:30AM. We intend to make the 3:30PM locks and to be on the Cascade Docks by 5:00PM. On the return trip we will leave after the last race and camp and Beacon Rock Sunday night. We expect to be in Portland by 3:00PM Monday.

Schedule of Events

If time allows there will be a practice race Friday at about 6:30PM. After that we suggest docking in Stevenshon for a great Mexican Dinner.

Racing is as per NOR Saturday and Sunday.

The Seattle NOOD Regatta is just around the corner (May 15-17) and this is a reminder to push your fleet to sign up soon to avoid the late fee which will start May 4th.

We have a few boats signed up in multiple fleets which is great but the class minimum is six and we would love Seattle to be as successful as last year!

You can sign up at www.sailingworld.com

Under the link: NOOD Regattas
Location: Seattle
And then in the middle of the page you will see the Regatta Info Center with ONLINE REGISTRATION
