Re-purpose your sails

Re-purpose your sails - give them a new life!
Here are some local options for ensuring your sails get reused:
  • Children's Museum - contact kvenhuis@portlandcm.org  (not a guarantee, you need to ask)
  • Trillium Artisans - contact graceisenough@yahoo.com  (not a guarantee, you need to ask)
  • Cracked Pots - contact through crackedpots.com   (not a guarantee, you need to ask)
  • SCRAP - contact 503-294-0769  (they ask that you bring just one sail in first so they can see if it gets used. If so, then they can take multiple)
  • TruceDesigns (bags made from sailcloth) - 503-914-6269 or trucedesigns.com  see below sail trade in offer.
SAIL TRADE IN PROGRAM

He's looking for pentax or mylar Headsail material, but will consider other types of sails.
One time only - Luke will pick up from McCuddy's if we can get 8 sails to Cloud9.  Otherwise, you need to drop in St. Johns.
If you've got a sail and are interested in doing a McCuddys drop, get in touch with me directly.

Last week's race was a short one because the race started late. As a consequence it was a tight finish.

After Race Get-together this Thurs

Pam and I were discussing how much we missed seeing the Racer's Row folks at our post-race gatherings, so we decided to move it closer to the Island to entice you to come out after racing and play! (The wings place last week was so much fun. And spicy!)

This Thursday, it's Kenton Station, a favorite of the Soup Crew.

When: August 10-12 or 17-19
Where: TBD. Somewhere along the Columbia not too far from downtown.

We have Free Cup of Soup fundraiser on the 10th. Does anyone want to
weigh in on whether this weekend would work?

Pam

J/24 Boat Photos for Reference

APS has some good pictures of nice J24s. These can be useful for reference.

"Our J/24 rigging/hardware photos are provided for your reference. We have found these images very helpful when trying to complete projects small or large; especially when a trip down to your boat is either inconvenient or impractical."
